The West Family Christmas Season Photo Session! Denae Harlow East Bay Photographer

I had so much fun doing this session because these are our friends from 10 years ago when we were newly married/had our first kid living in student housing at school. It is always so fun to see friends you've known for a long time. Now they have moved about an hour away from us and we finally got to see them again!

Their boys are so sweet and I just wanted to take their baby Bowen home with me. They almost didn't come-- it was supposed to rain and we cancelled. Then at the last minute they decided to risk it, scrambled to get out here to Brentwood before dark, and we ended up having a great session.... good weather, no rain, fun location, and their boys were SO good and cooperative. I'm so glad they ended up coming! Now enough talking... here is a little (ok big) sneak peak for Jeremy and Michiko!

OCF Workshop!

This weekend I got to meet Ali from Rock the OCF and take her workshop! It was so much fun to try something new and meet other photographers! We had some great models and locations. On day two our models cancelled and my kids were in town so they came by for awhile. Don't mind Macey's horribly placed tattoo (who puts a tattoo on their neck?)- I could take it off but I think it's funny and so her.

Baby Zach is the sweetest thing and I was thrilled to get to do his pictures. He was only 6 days old when we took them. He is just precious, and soft, and cuddly. It was so fun to see him with his big brothers.... they were so good with him.

I'm kind of in awe of these boys and their big eyes. I've known them a long time and I always think they're cute but as soon as I take their pictures and capture their cuteness I can't stop staring at my screen! They are more than cute.... they are gorgeous wouldn't you say?? Their eyes are almost taking over the photo and distracting me from the darling-ness of their newborn brother... and that is hard to do! Ok, I'll stop gushing now!

I've had some questions about doing mini sessions. Basically less time for the session, less images on CD, and less money.

Well, I've decided to try it and here are the details:

The Christmas Card Mini Session:

For families or just children

$125

20 minute session

8 fully edited images on disk

one 11x14 inch mounted print

$25 print credit toward Christmas Cards ordered through Harlow Photography

Mini-sessions are available on the following days this year:

October 15th- location-Creekside Park, Brentwood

Schedule both your Maternity and Newborn photo session with me and receive $25 off each session!

Newborn photos should be taken within the baby's first week to ten days. Have your husband call me when your little one arrives to set it up, and don't worry, I will come to you so you don't have to leave the comfort of your home!

Each session is one hour long and includes a CD with 10-15 beautiful images and print release for you to print when and where you please.

*Typically newborns (depending on the baby, of course) can take longer than one hour because of feedings, changings, etc. so be prepared to set aside enough time so that we can get the best photos of your new baby.

*Maternity session fee and 1/2 of newborn session fee is due at the time of Maternity Session.

A few clients have shown me what they've done with their family portraits. I think figuring out the sizes you need and actually printing them out can be overwhelming. But there are tons of ideas all over the internet on how to create a fun wall display! I recently saw on Michaels.com some ideas and templates you can actually buy if you need that much help. Believe it or not I don't even have a good display at my house yet. I have so many pictures of my kids and I need to get them together and make a wall. It's on my list!

I love these examples from some of my clients. Thanks for sharing you guys!

I stole this idea from Christie. I love them because they are simple, cheap, easy to make, and original! You should make some too. It is simply a photo of your child with a sucker stuck through it.

If you want me to make them for you (minus the sucker part), you can come over, get your child's photo taken and order some. We would need to take the photo on Friday and the Valentines would be ready by Tuesday or Wednesday.

25 printed valentine cards =$25.00
Just the edited picture with message on it (you print them yourself) = $15.00

I usually don't post all of my favorites on the blog before the client gets the cd because I want them to have a few surprises. But it is hard to wait! This little boy was probably my most energetic subject ever. He was so excited about the water and the ducks and everything! I loved his excitement. His mom and I pretty much just followed him around for an hour. I think you can feel his energy in these pictures- his personality just shows! I have a few more but I'll have to wait a couple of days until mom has seen them on her cd first.

My number 1 fan and supporter, my husband Dave. He is always encouraging me to take pictures, work on them, and use the money I make to buy more equipment.
